SULLIVAN, Mo. – A Missouri Lottery player won the top prize on a scratchers ticket after choosing the ticket based on its color.

The scratchers player won $2 million after purchasing the ticket at Bugzy’s gas station of South Service Road in Sullivan, Missouri.

The winner said she chose the ticket based on how it looked, and the color of the ticket was what made her make the purchase.

She was shocked to see that she had won the $2 million prize.

“I sat in my car in disbelief, in tears,” she recalled. “I went to show my daughter the ticket and she said, ‘We better scan it!’ So we did, and it told us to claim the prize at a Lottery office.”

The winner said she plans to keep her plans “hush-hush” with how she wants to spend the money.

“I’m going to continue to work and do what I’m doing, just maintain until I wrap my head around this,” she said.

So far, lottery players have won over $11.5 million in prizes in the “$2,000,000 Extreme Cash” Scratchers game. Three second prizes of $100,000 and one additional $2 million top prize remain unclaimed.
