COLUMBIA, Mo. – The athletic director for the University of Missouri-Columbia is calling it quits after two years.
Desiree Reed-Francois will be leaving the department and heading to the University of Arizona. This comes after university officials recently established an oversight committee to monitor Mizzou’s athletics, according to FOX 2’s partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Reed-Francois was credited with the hiring of coaches Dennis Gate, Dawn Sillivan, and Kerrick Jackson, as well as being the catalyst behind the school obtaining a record $62 million donation to the department.
Reed-Francois was UNLV’s director of athletics before her hire at Mizzou. Her son, Jackson Francois, is also a member of Mizzou’s men’s basketball team.
