ST. LOUIS – Missouri voters are casting their ballots in Tuesday’s primary election and there are some congressional seats up for grabs.

In addition to the hotly contested district 1 match-up between incumbent congresswoman Cori Bush and St. Louis County Prosecutor Wesley Bell, there are two other races gaining attention across the state.

Both the District 2 and District 3 congressional races hold significant implications for the future representation of Missouri in Washington.

In District 2, incumbent Republican Congresswoman Ann Wagner is looking to secure her party’s nomination against challenger Peter Pfeifer.

Wagner has held the seat since 2013. She’s campaigning based on her experience and consistent conservative record. Her opponent, Peter Pfeifer, says he wants to stop out-of-control government spending and end illegal immigration.

On the democratic side, the race is heating up between entrepreneur Chuck Summers and Ray Hartmann, a well-known journalist and media figure.

Both candidates are focusing on issues like healthcare and education as they seek to unseat Wagner in the general election.

Shifting to District 3, the Republican primary is particularly competitive, with former state senators Bob Onder and Kurt Schaefer emerging as frontrunners.

With the retirement of Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, this race has drawn multiple candidates, including Arnie Dienoff, Bruce Bowman, Chad Bicknell, Kyle Bone, and Justin Hicks, who suspended his campaign last month.

On the Democratic side, Andrew Daly and Bethany Mann are competing for the nomination, each presenting distinct plans for change in a district that stretches from St. Charles County to Columbia, Missouri.

Polls opened at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning and they’ll be open until 7 p.m.
