JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Supreme Court of Missouri has ordered an execution date for a man convicted in a woman’s murder in Jefferson City more than a decade ago.

A mid-Missouri jury found David Hosier, a former firefighter, guilty of first-degree murder and other charges in the 2009 death of Angela Gilpin.

On Wednesday, the state ordered the execution for 6 p.m. on June 11, 2024. The execution will happen under the supervision and direction of the director of the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Hosier’s attorneys requested an appeal of the murder conviction in December 2013. After years of court proceedings, the State of Missouri filed a motion to set an execution date last year.

According to previous Associated Press reports, Hosier had a relationship with Gilpin while she was separated from her husband, who was also shot to death in her Jefferson City apartment.

The state of Missouri carried out four executions last year.
