PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. – A missing Phelps County, Missouri, teenager has been found safe and a Montana man is in custody.
The teenager had been missing since Monday evening. According to a report appearing in the Great Bend Post, Phelps County law enforcement notified police in Atchison, Kansas, about the missing 13-year-old.
Atchison police received word that the girl was in the area with a 20-year-old man.
Police located the man’s vehicle parked at a hotel. They claim the teenager and man, identified as Osias W. Everson, were inside the hotel.
Everson, of Deer Lodge, Montana, was arrested. The Great Bend Post reports that Everson has been charged with rape and contributing to child misconduct. However, neither the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department nor the Atchison County Prosecutor’s Office would confirm the charges.
