Marquette Rec Center closes temporarily for boiler fix

ST. LOUIS – The Marquette Recreation Center in south St. Louis will be temporarily closed after a broken boiler disrupts the facility.

The City of St. Louis announced the closure on social media Friday morning after the broken boiler impacted the facility’s boiler area and the gym.


SLPS Superintendent Dr. Keisha Scarlett fired by school board

Officials say the work to replace the boiler and make repairs will begin Friday morning and will take a minimum of three weeks to complete.

The facilities main two programs, boxing and basketball, will be moved and arranged at another facility.
