ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An arrest warrant was issued this week for a Castle Point man wanted for abusing both his girlfriend and her young son.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the abuse occurred from July 2023 to February 2024.

Police claim that in July, Rodney Q. Wilson tied his girlfriend’s 8-year-old son up to a pole in their basement. He blindfolded and gagged the child, beat the boy with a wooden stick, and poured various substances on him. Wilson left the boy tied up for approximately 12 hours.

Between Aug. 1 and Sept. 21, 2023, police claim Wilson again beat the child. In one instance, Wilson scalped the boy, leaving a wound on the child’s head measuring seven inches by three inches.

On Sept. 12, Wilson is believed to have strangled his girlfriend in front of her child.

On Feb. 22, 2024, Wilson strangled his girlfriend again at the intersection of Cameron and Crawford roads. She suffered complications from that assault and remains hospitalized, police said.

While reviewing the history of calls for service at the home, investigators discovered Wilson had assaulted his girlfriend’s sister by punching her in the face in March 2021.

Investigators believe Wilson fled the state.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Wilson with abuse or neglect of a child, first-degree kidnapping, abuse or neglect of a child resulting in serious emotional or physical injury, second-degree domestic assault, and two counts of second-degree domestic assault.

A county judge signed the arrest warrant on March 20. Upon his arrest, Wilson will be held without bond.
