ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man is slated to appear in St. Louis Circuit Court Thursday afternoon for allegedly threatening to kill a police officer.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the threat was made on August 4 from an apartment in the 3500 block of Morgan Ford Road in the Tower Grove South neighborhood.
Police said Andrew V. Bourland, 24, sent the text to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office requesting charges be dropped in another case or he would “personally murder” one of the officer’s involved in the case.

Bourland completed a suspended sentence in January for two counts of fourth-degree assault. It’s unclear if this is the aforementioned case.
Bourland was arrested on August 13. Police said Bourland backed away from officers and then struggled while being handcuffed.
City prosecutors charged Bourland with tampering with a judicial proceeding and resisting arrest for a felony. Bourland remains jailed without bond.
