ST. LOUIS – Traffic on eastbound Interstate 44/70 in downtown St. Louis was closed Wednesday evening after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian.
The crash occurred around 7:05 p.m., according to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman.
Investigators said a man was changing a flat tire on the interstate near Broadway when he was struck by a semi-truck and killed.
The truck driver pulled over a short distance away.
