ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man has been charged in connection with a shooting earlier this summer in the city’s Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened on June 1 in the 3400 block of Goodfellow Boulevard.
Police said Alvin D. Morris, 48, fired multiple shots at the victim’s car. Officers found eight 9 mm cartridge casings at the scene. Morris was later arrested.
Morris has prior convictions over the last 30 years and is a persistent offender, police said.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Morris with five counts of first-degree assault, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, and five counts of armed criminal action. Morris remains jailed without bond. He’s due in court on Friday, August 23.
Morris also has a pending case against him in St. Louis County for unlawful possession of a firearm. A capias warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to appear in court.
