ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A would-be bank robber didn’t get too far in his plot to take money from a St. John bank.

According to the St. John Police Department’s probable cause statement, the attempted robbery happened on Oct. 24, 2022, at the Bank of America branch located in the 8900 block of St. Charles Rock Road.

Police claim Michael Larry (age not provided) entered the bank and presented the teller with a note demanding $500 and declaring he was robbing the bank.

The teller hit a panic button but gave Larry the $500. Meanwhile, other bank employees ran to the St. John Police Department—located in the same building—and alerted authorities.

Larry was promptly arrested and the $500 was recovered.
