Man linked to lengthy St. Louis burglary spree, charged with 71 felonies

ST. LOUIS – Authorities recently arrested a man in connection with a series of St. Louis burglaries dating back to 2022.

Prosecutors have charged Timothy Watson, 38, with 71 felonies in an alleged burglary spree. Police say Watson is a suspect in 27 separate incidents, including 16 different businesses at 17 locations.

Watson’s offenses include first-degree and second-degree burglary, property damage, stealing and resisting arrest. He was arrested on Jan. 18 and last connected with a burglary five days earlier.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Watson was captured on surveillance cameras during almost every reported burglary and wore very distinctive clothing. He also left behind his driver’s license during one attempted robbery.

Police say they were able to locate Watson through various technical electronic measures. Watson allegedly fought against officers who attempted to arrest him, per court documents.

Watson is jailed at the St. Louis Justice Center without bond. Missouri court records did not indicate his next scheduled court date as of Wednesday.
