Man left critically injured after south St. Louis shooting

ST. LOUIS – A man was left in critical condition after a shooting in south St. Louis on Sunday.

The shooting occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday night in the Tower Grove East neighborhood.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a 28-year-old man sitting in front of St. Pius V Catholic Church, suffering from two gunshot wounds to the chest.

Police say the man was shot on the sidewalk and collapsed on the street.

The 28-year-old man was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.

The shooter has not been identified, and there were no witnesses at the scene.
