MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. – Deputies arrested a man in possession of methamphetamine in rural Missouri just moments after he blew past a stop sign.
Prosecutors have charged Evan Dam, 32, of New Haven, Missouri, with first-degree drug trafficking, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to stop at a stop sign in connection with the investigation.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports that Dam was arrested Tuesday in the southern part of the county.
A deputy pulled over a driver, later identified as Dam, who accused of blowing a stop sign and using lanes improperly.
The sheriff’s office says deputies asked Dam to leave his vehicle, to which he complied. A bulge in his pants concerned authorities and led to him being patted down. Authorities later determined the bulge was a sock that contained four plastic bags holding of methamphetamine and a glass meth pipe. The bags had approximately 12 ounces of methamphetamine total.
Dam is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says Dam has an extensive history of convictions for meth offenses in Missouri and Illinois.
