MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – A St. Louis County court convicted a man of fatally shooting his co-worker in Maryland Heights on Thursday.

Deshawn Johnson, 24, was found guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Reginald Brandy last year.

Johnson fatally shot Brandy at the Dobbs Service Center in the 12000 block of Dorsett Road after an altercation on Jan. 4, 2023. Investigators say Johnson admitted to ownership of a weapon linked to the murder case.

Johnson’s case was argued in a bench trial from Oct. 7-9 prior to his guilty verdict.

“No one should experience violence in the workplace let alone lose their life,” said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell. “This verdict holds this defendant accountable for this senseless violence and loss of life.”

Johnson could face life in prison for the second-degree murder charge and up to a 15-year sentence for the armed criminal action charge.
