Man charged with killing brother over the weekend

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man has been charged with killing his brother at their home this past weekend.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4800 block of Maffitt Avenue, located in the Kingsway East neighborhood.

Police said Gregory L. Allen, 64, shot and killed his brother with a shotgun.

Police said Allen initially claimed he accidentally shot his brother, but witnesses said Allen had repeatedly threatened his brother before killing him.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Allen with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a firearm. Allen remains jailed without bond. He’s due for a detention hearing on July 30.
