Major Case Squad joins investigation of deadly Berkeley shooting

BERKELEY, Mo. – The Major Case Squad is now investigating a shooting that left one man dead Sunday night in Berkeley.

Officers were called to the 6100 block of Jefferson Ave. around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a 45-year-old man inside a car. According to police, he was shot once.

They performed life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has grown through the north community. Lt. Mark Pounders with the Florissant Police Department is the deputy commander assigned to the case, with the help of 15 Major Case Squad investigators.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
