Major Case Squad investigating killing of Memphis man in Metro East

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was activated Wednesday to investigate the shooting death of a Memphis, Tennessee, man in Cahokia Heights.

The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, in the 700 block of Mildred Avenue.

Officers from the Cahokia Heights Police Department received word of a shooting at a residence. They arrived to find Bradford Readus dead at the scene. Readus was 22.

Local police requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad, who have assigned 15 investigators to the case. They are working to identify the person or persons responsible for the shooting and take them into custody.
