Juvenile in custody after threat against Normandy High School

NORMANDY, Mo. – One juvenile was taken into custody Monday after a recent online threat against Normandy High School, according to the North County Police Cooperative.

Investigators say the juvenile was determined to be a student in the school district, adding that the juvenile was in custody on one count of making terroristic threats.

According to a news release, North County officers were recently alerted of an online threat against Normandy High School. The alert came from a Normandy High School student who reported the threatening post to their parent. The threat alleged a school shooting would occur in the immediate future.

North County officers launched an immediate investigation into the threat, working in connection with the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and the St. Louis County Juvenile Office. While investigating, authorities obtained evidence relevant to the threat and the St. Louis County Juvenile Office screened the charge as sufficient.

The North County Police Cooperative says it is is working closely with the Normandy School District and plans to offer assistance with additional safety and security measures.
