Juvenile escapes St. Louis County facility, steals vehicle, gets arrested

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The St. Louis County Police Department arrested a juvenile for escaping confinement and stealing a guard’s vehicle. The juvenile, who escaped from the Missouri Division of Youth Services, has since been re-arrested. The escape happened on April 2.

According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, the juvenile was in custody at the facility when they pushed a guard to the ground, causing her to hit her head. While the guard was on the ground, the juvenile and another juvenile took the guard’s car keys from her pocket. The two escapees then stole the guard’s vehicle, a red 2012 Nissan Rogue.

The victim reported that the two juveniles also took her cellphone, backpack, and keys, and shoved her twice.

One of the juveniles has been arrested and is being held without bond. The arrested juvenile is charged with robbery, attempting to escape from confinement, auto theft, and assault.
