GASCONADE COUNTY, Mo. – A juvenile is dead and another injured after a vehicle they were riding in overturned Sunday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on the 3700 block of Branch Road in Owensville, involving a Polaris Ranger UTV driven by an 11-year-old girl.
MSHP says the UTV was traveling south on Branch Road with two 11-year-old girls when the vehicle overturned in a field. Officials say the 11-year-old passenger in the UTV died from the crash.
The driver of the UTV was transported to a nearby hospital suffering from moderate injuries.
MSHP says the passenger of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the 11-year-old driver was.
