Investigation underway for infant death in Kosciusko

ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating after a child has died, according to officials.

Preliminary information shows officers were called Thursday for the sudden death of an infant on Kosciusko Street, which is just east of Soulard.

The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Child Abuse Unit responded to the call, which is standard protocol for sudden child deaths.

An investigation is ongoing as the medical examiner determines the cause of death.
