TROY, Mo. – Officials are investigating after a baby was pronounced dead Monday in Troy, Missouri.

According to officials, the Lincoln County 911 Dispatch received a call around 9:30 a.m. to Charlotte Drive for an unresponsive infant. Upon arrival, emergency crews performed life-saving measures on a 45-day-old baby.

The infant was transported to Mercy Lincoln Hospital, where the baby was pronounced dead.

Missouri’s Child Fatality Review Program requires a multi-disciplinary team to review all child deaths under the age of 18. This group consists of law enforcement, medical examiners, child protection services, and public health officials.

Neighbors reported seeing a white vehicle with missing parts wrapped in police tape, along with the property lines where they located the infant. They say the owner of the vehicle is notorious in the neighborhood for couch surfing and that the transient occupants are in and out of the house at all hours of the day and night.

Another neighbor said that the woman she saw being detained had had issues in the past, allegedly busting out the glass of her front door at one point and making lude gestures.

The case is still under investigation by officials.
