DIXON, Ill. (WTVO) — Police are responding to a reported “mass casualty incident” in rural Dixon.
Reports of a shooting prompted law enforcement to respond to the 400 block of Wild Rice Lane in Lost Nation, in the Lost Lake gated community, 13 miles east of Grand Detour, around 12 p.m.
Multiple agencies, including the Ogle County Sheriff and first responders from Dixon, Oregon, Mount Morris, and Polo were called to the scene.
The Ogle County Sheriff is calling the situation a “critical incident,” confirming shots were fired.
Wild Rice Lane is currently closed to traffic.
