ST. LOUIS – A Fairview Heights, Illinois, man was indicted Wednesday for allegedly committing sexual abuse on the grounds of Gateway Arch National Park.
Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Monte D. Boatman, 35, is accused of committing forcible assault inside the park on Dec. 6, 2023, and placing the victim in fear for their own life and safety.
Boatman was charged with one count of sexual abuse.
If convicted, Boatman faces upwards of life imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
