Ignored complaint leads to stabbing in south St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – A man was stabbed Thursday evening in south St. Louis shortly after he ignored a random complaint from a stranger.

Authorities say the stranger used a sharp object to stab the man who ignored his complaint.

The stabbing happened around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Eichelberger Drive in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood.

A crime summary report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department states that the victim, a 55-year-old man, was walking when the suspect approached him and made a random complaint. The victim ignored the suspect’s remarks than was stabbed with an unknown object.

The victim then ran to his home and called authorities. He later arrived at a hospital for treatment.

Police have not yet disclosed the victim’s condition or whether the suspect was arrested.
