ST. LOUIS – Since 2005, Windows on Washington has hosted special events in downtown St. Louis like weddings, fashion shows, and many other celebrations.

After 30 years of operation, the venue located in the 1600 block of Washington Avenue has announced it will be closing its doors on January 1, 2025.

The owner, Thomas Klein, has decided to retire and listed the building for sale.

Events scheduled with the venue through December 31, 2024, will continue as planned. Though, events that are booked for 2025 will receive a full refund, and the venue says it will help clients find alternative options for their event.

Windows on Washington evolved from the Thomas W. Klein Catering Company, which has helped St. Louis families celebrate special moments since the 1980s. In 1994, Windows on Washington launched in the former International Shoe Company building downtown.

By 1999, the venue had called its home inside the 10th floor of the City Museum. Then eventually, in 2005, it would transition to its current location.
