ST. LOUIS – A heat advisory takes effect Sunday in the St. Louis region with the potential for triple-digit temperatures through Monday evening.
The City of St. Louis and more than 30 counties in the bi-state area under a heat advisory from 1 p.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Monday.
The FOX 2 weather team is currently tracking the possibility of highs near or above 100 degrees for the next two days, in addition to heat indices as high as high as 108 degrees.
If you plan on heading outdoors over the next few days, make sure to take several precautions to beat the heat and stay hydrated. Also consider wearing light-weight clothing and avoiding strenuous activities to prevent an increased risk of heat-related illnesses.
There could be some relief from the hot temperatures as early as Tuesday or Wednesday when chances for storms and a cold front increase. Highs are expected around 80 degrees for much of the new workweek after Monday.
