HAZMAT concerns on Highway 61 in Lincoln County after vehicle fire

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. – Emergency officials are warning of a possible HAZMAT situation on Highway 61 in Lincoln County after a vehicle fire Wednesday morning on Highway 61.

Lincoln County Emergency Management officials say Highway 61 is shut down at Highway K as crews investigate the situation.

Drivers are asked to avoid Highway 61 and use alternate routes as crews attend to the matter.

Lincoln County Emergency Management says there is a “possible threat to life or property” amid this investigation and “Responsive action SHOULD be taken immediately.”
