CREVE COEUR, Mo. – A fresh haircut is known for a boost of confidence, but this week at Hair Saloon chains around St. Louis, it’s also helping build a stronger community.

The Hair Saloon for Men is donating 10 percent of all proceeds directly to BackStoppers, a St. Louis-based organization that provides financial assistance and support to families of fallen police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs.

The donations made to BackStoppers will go directly to the family of fallen St. Louis Police Officer David Lee, who was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver last week.

“When the worst of the worst happens, we sometimes forget that a family first puts those loved ones in harm’s way for us, as the community… So this is why we’re giving back and being able to serve the family of David Lee and who he leaves behind and making sure they’re not forgotten,” Hair Saloon for Men’s President and CEO Tom Twellman said.

Hair Saloon for Men is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. All 16 locations across Missouri and Illinois will be participating.
