ST. LOUIS — Southern winds continue to usher in warm air. Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. We’ll continue with mostly sunny skies.

Due to the combination of gusty winds, dry vegetation and dry air, we’ll see elevated fire danger in parts of the region, especially from central Missouri into northeast Missouri. It’ll be quite mild overnight, with increasing clouds. Lows bottom out in the 50s to near 60.

We’ll have more clouds around for Monday. Gusty winds continue along with near-record highs. Temperatures will max out again near 80. A cold front will move into the area Monday afternoon and continue to the southeast through Tuesday.

This front will bring showers and storms, with the potential for a few strong storms Monday afternoon and evening. Showers will linger into Tuesday. Behind the front, we’ll have relatively cooler temperatures, but still above normal for this time of year.

We’ll see a break in rain chances on Wednesday before another system brings more rain chances on Thursday through at least Friday.
