Gordon Ramsay’s STL restaurant sees surging demand as diners flock from afar

ST. LOUIS – Gordon Ramsay’s new St. Louis restaurant has quickly become a culinary hotspot since opening doors this summer. Crowds from the St. Louis region and beyond are eager to get their hands on Ramsay’s world-renowned dishes.

FOX 2 previously reported that Ramsay’s Kitchen at the Four Seasons Hotel had more than 30,000 reservations upon opening in June. A new feature story from Thrillist.com says that was the most reservations Ramsay has ever had for any of his restaurants after opening doors.

Thrillist also notes that around half of St. Louis’ Ramsay’s Kitchen visitors are traveling from at least 30 miles away, presumably most from the outskirts or just outside the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

“The menu at Ramsay’s Kitchen reflects Gordon’s lifelong journey with food and his travels, so dining here is a way to tap into that experience and connect with him,” General Manager Sarah Landry told Thrillist.

Many visitors feel the food and atmosphere together set a high standard for fine dining.

The restaurant sources around 95% of its ingredients from St. Louis-area farmers and producers, infusing local touches into classic specialties like Beef Wellington, Crispy Skin Salmon, and Pan-Seared Scallops. St. Louis native and Chef de Cuisine Joe Simonic reportedly oversees around one-quarter of the menu.

The restaurant itself has the capacity to welcome more than 250 guests at a time. The restaurant’s layout includes a bar and lounge, a main dining room with a seasonal patio, two private dining rooms and an outdoor bar. Thrillist also raves the restaurant’s location as one that offers a “postcard-worthy view of the gleaming Gateway Arch National Park and mighty Mississippi River.”
