ST. LOUIS – Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan both crushed key home runs to help the St. Louis Cardinals past the the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-3, in Thursday’s series finale.
The Cardinals win the final two games of a critical three-game division set with the Pittsburgh Pirates, improving to 33-34 on the season.
After an early exit from Lance Lynn (4.1 IP. 3 ER), the bullpen stepped up for nearly five full scoreless frames.
The Cardinals head to Wrigley Field on Friday for a three-game series with another division rival in the Chicago Cubs.
