Funeral services arranged for fallen Affton Fire Captain

AFFTON, Mo. – Funeral services have been arranged for James Cova, a St. Louis-area firefighter found dead earlier this week while on his shift.

James “Jim” Cova, a captain with the Affton Fire Protection District, was found unresponsive in his room at Affton Fire Station 1 on Tuesday afternoon. His cause of death has not yet been determined.


Remains of Missouri soldier killed on D-Day identified

A public visitation will be held next Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the Kutis Funeral Home at 10151 Gravois Road.

Public funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday inside the Kutis Funeral Home chapel.

There will be a procession with fire service members from the funeral home to a burial site at St. Paul Churchyard after funeral services.

Cova was 54 years old. He leaves behind a wife and their two daughters.
