Four St. Louis-area teachers among semi-finalists for 2025 Teacher of the Year award

MISSOURI – The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced the semi-finalists for the 2025 Missouri Teacher of the Year award.

Out of the 34 “highly praised” teachers selected for the award, 16 semi-finalists were announced, and four of them are from the St. Louis area.

The semi-finalists from St. Louis are Courtney Duffy, a math teacher at Bayless Elementary School; Jennifer Kist, a special education teacher at Fort Zumwalt Early Childhood Center; Hester Menier, a teacher at the Wentzville School District; and Tim Waters, a third grade teacher at Long Elementary School in Lindberg.

The finalists for the 2025 award will be announced Thursday, August 29.
