ST. LOUIS – Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis are teaming up to restore Steinberg Rink and transform its 22.5-acre surroundings into an exciting site for locals to enjoy.

In a $100 million fundraising campaign from Forest Park Forever, this project looks to turn Steinberg Rink’s 22.5 acres into the Glade, a brand-new all-season destination that aims to provide convenience for community members to gain access to eastern Forest Park and enjoy winter-themed amenities.

Some unique features for the Glade Project that visitors can look forward to include a community lawn, rooftop dining and passive areas that overlook the park.

In its press release, Forest Park Forever noted the need for renovations for the rink and building, such as the frequent leaks from the rooftop.

This project begins March 2025 and will take 20 months to complete, the press release states.

With construction underway, Steinberg Rink will be closed for the 2025-2026 ice skating season up until fall 2026.
