SEDALIA, Mo. – The Missouri State Fair is welcoming one of the biggest rock bands this summer.
Foreigner will bring its Farewell Tour to kick off the 2024 Missouri State Fair. Their show is scheduled for opening night of the fair, Thursday, Aug. 8.
Known for hits like “Juke Box Hero” and “Cold As Ice,” Foreigner has 10 multiplatinum albums and 16 top 30 hits.
They’ve been on their Farewell Tour since July, aiming to visit all the cities they’ve played in since reforming in 2004. They stopped in Kansas City last summer.
Nashville singer/songwriter Maggie Rose will open for Foreigner. After her previous albums, Rolling Stone called her a “star” and NPR Music deemed her a “multi-genre powerhouse.”
Missouri State Fair organizers are expected to announce other Grandstand concerts in the coming weeks.
Tickets for Foreigner’s concert and other Grandstand shows will go on sale starting 9 a.m. May 21.
The 2024 Missouri State Fair runs from Aug. 8-18 at the State Fairgrounds in Sedalia.
