MAPLEWOOD, Mo. – Deer Creek in Maplewood once again experienced flash flooding Tuesday. It’s an area that’s been hit hard in recent years by flash floods.

Video taken near the intersection of Laclede Station Road and Marshall Avenue showed how high the waters got. Water flooded out a portion of the Deer Creek Greenway trail.

Residents made the most of the situation, navigating around the standing water.

This is far from the first time Deer Creek has flooded. Back in April, flash flooding forced a water rescue along Manchester Road.

Two years ago, in late July of 2022, major flash flooding caused a lot of damage to businesses and cars. It shut down roads and flooded out a large swath of the area. Residents say it’s a reminder to take flash flooding seriously.
