EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – Crews are working to clear the scene of an early-morning house fire Friday in east St. Louis.
The fire happened in the 500 block of North 35th Street. Flames began shooting through the roof of a home in the 3 a.m. hour Friday.
The second floor and roof of the home are pretty much gone. Large flames have been contained as of 5 a.m. Crews are now working to mitigate smoke.
First responders have not yet confirmed any potential injuries from this fire and it’s unclear whether anyone was inside.
This is the second straight day with an early-morning house fire in East St. Louis, the first which happened at the intersection of North 18th Street and Ridge Avenue at a vacant home Thursday.
