ST. LOUIS – A person is left dead after striking the pier of the Metrolink Bridge, causing the vehicle to catch fire in the Central West End.
The accident occurred a little after 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning on South Vandeventer Avenue between Forest Park Avenue and Market Street.
Officials say the accident involved a single vehicle. According to Fox 2’s Rogue Runner, Brian Howe, Metrolink operations do not appear to be affected by the crash.
Vandeventer Avenue will be closed in both directions while accident reconstruction crews investigate the crash.
