MARBLE HILL, Mo. – A city in Bollinger County is scrambling after the entire police department of Marble Hill, Missouri, resigned.
The Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office announced that officers at the Marble Hill Police Department submitted their resignations to the city council on Monday. This will leave the county’s largest city without police officers starting Saturday.
The department’s police chief, Kristin Nenninger shared a statement on Facebook stating the resignation came after the city’s apparent budget constraints on the police department.
According to the sheriff’s office, they are currently in communication with the city of Marble Hill and have told the community they will work to negotiate a resolution with the department to ensure daily operations continue.
