Endangered person advisory issued for missing St. Louis County woman

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An endangered person advisory was issued Sunday after a St. Louis County woman sent concerning text messages to a crisis hotline.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the missing person incident happened in the 11900 block of Red Barn Court around 4:10 p.m.

Police said Ambrea Shanks, 27, threatened to harm herself in text messages to the crisis hotline. She had made prior attempts to harm herself since 2016.

Shanks was last seen driving her navy blue Chevrolet Malibu in the 2500 block of Redman Road. Authorities reported her cell phone last pinged before 7 p.m. near St. Charles Rock Road and Interstate 270.

Police describe Shanks as a Black woman, standing 5’10” tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. She has red hair, brown eyes, a medium complexion, and a tattoo on her left chest. She’s wearing a black jacket and gray sweatpants.

Anyone who has seen Shanks or her vehicle or has knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911 to reach their nearest law enforcement agency, or contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.
