Employee critically injured in St. Louis gas station shooting

ST. LOUIS – A gas station employee is in the hospital after being shot simply doing his job.

The shooting happened Saturday morning around 4 a.m. outside Midwest Petroleum on South Jefferson at the corner of Lafayette Avenue.

Police say the 21-year-old victim was outside sweeping when he heard gunshots and realized he had been hit. He was rushed to the hospital and is now in critical condition.

Police are still investigating.
