ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Louis County man has been ordered to appear in court next month for allegedly stealing more than $3,000 from his employer.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, officers were called to the Clarkson Eyecare on Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights on January 1, for a reported employee theft.
Police said a store manager discovered Brenden Wicks (age not provided) had stolen $3,036.88 from the company between Aug. 8, 2023, and Oct. 30, 2023.
An internal store audit revealed Wicks was skimming patient refunds and depositing the money into his own account, police said.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Wicks with stealing – $750 or more. A county judge issued a criminal summons to Wicks to appear in court on August 27.
