JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Gaming Commission heard presentations Wednesday from DraftKings, FanDuel and Circa Sports, three companies competing for two mobile sports betting licenses available in the state.

The Missouri Gaming Commission is expected to make a decision Friday on who gets the two mobile licenses, according to state documents.

Missouri voters narrowly approved Amendment 2 last November to legalize sports wagering in the state. The law calls for sports betting to launch in Missouri by December 1, 2025. Many procedural elements, including licensing rules, are still being finalized.

DraftKings, FanDuel and Circa Sports each pitched their cases for two untethered sports betting licenses, which would allow them to operate online sportsbooks in Missouri without partnering with a casino or professional sports team.

DraftKings and FanDuel have long backed Missouri’s push to legalize sports gambling, contributing a $43 million campaign in support of Amendment 2, according to Fortune.com. Both offer daily fantasy sports, while FanDuel already has a presence in Missouri as broadcast partners for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals.

Circa Hospitality, the Las Vegas-based parent company of Cira Sports, makes a case as an underdog that focuses on high-limit betting.

According to Gaming-Awards.com, the Missouri Commission’s decisions will be based on several factors, including, expertise in online sports betting, platform integrity and safety and revenue generation potential, among other things.
