CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – Crews rescued a carnival worker Tuesday morning who ended up trapped in a Ferris wheel at Chesterfield Mall.
Firefighters from the Monarch Fire Department responded to the parking lot of the Chesterfield Mall around 2 a.m. Tuesday. A carnival was set up outside the mall over the holiday weekend.
Investigators say a 54-year-old man was trapped somewhere in the Ferris wheel. It’s unclear what led up to him becoming trapped, but he was likely working to tear down the wheel.
Firefighters rescued the man to safety. He was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons, though it appears he avoided significant injuries.
