ST. LOUIS — A local comic book store is looking for a superhero to represent St. Louis. It’s a part of 314 Day and the creator who gets the most votes from a panel of judges will win $250.
What are they looking for? Well, the 314 Day Foundation wants a character that embodies the essence and virtues of the city, a figure that residents can rally behind. Participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from their personal experiences and perceptions of the city. Each entry is required to include a detailed two-paragraph narrative outlining the superhero’s powers, origin, and backstory.
Comic enthusiasts and experts will serve on a panel to evaluate the submissions. The highest-ranked entries are slated for announcement on March 14th. The creator of the winning superhero concept will be awarded a $250 cash prize.
Submissions are to be shared on Instagram, with participants tagging @ApotheosisComics and using the hashtag #314DayHero. The deadline for entries is March 5th.
