Officers found the victim, Michael Rice, near the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Rice was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 27.

Police claim that homicide detectives determined Lavell Nunley was responsible for Rice’s death. Nunley was arrested on Wednesday.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Nunley on Thursday with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of armed criminal action.
