Celebrate Earth Day around St. Louis this weekend

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Earth Day Festival is set to take place this weekend, April 20 and 21, at the Muny Grounds in Forest Park. This annual event offers attendees a chance to learn about sustainable products and services from local businesses and organizations. Those who are attending can enjoy food, entertainment, and insights from experts on sustainable living.

The festival, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, serves as a platform for community members to connect with area non-profits dedicated to Earth Day values. Local performers will provide entertainment, and eateries participating in the Green Dining Alliance will showcase their environmentally friendly dining options.

Here are other Earth Day events are taking place in the region:

Meridian Waste is hosting an Earth Day coloring contest for children aged five to 10. The contest, which is free to enter, runs until April 22. Interested participants can download coloring pages and find more information here.

The Saint Louis Zoo will hold an Earth Day event on Saturday, April 27, starting at 10 a.m. The event will feature kids’ activities, music, a raffle, and discussions on maintaining clean plants and a healthy climate.

St. Charles County is hosting an Earth Day campout at Klondike Park, beginning at 2 p.m. on April 20 and ending at 12 p.m. on April 21. Attendees can enjoy a nature hike, crafts, and educational sessions about the park’s wildlife.

The Watershed Nature Center in Edwardsville, Illinois, will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities include a 5k and 1-mile run, tree giveaways, a native plant sale, a kids’ discovery day, and opportunities to adopt pets.
