ST. LOUIS – It is a big day for Cardinal Nation when it comes to spring training for the Redbirds, and that’s not all that’s happening Tuesday for Cardinal fans.

The official countdown to baseball at Busch Stadium is certainly on as the Redbirds home opener against the Marlins is April 4, but Tuesday it’s all about pitchers and catchers for the Redbirds. Pitchers and catchers officially report Tuesday; their first on-field workout is Wednesday.

Ull squad on-field workouts for the Redbirds start next Monday. The Cardinals came off a rough season last year. They finished last in the NL Central with 91 losses. Pitching was a big issue. In the off-season, the Redbirds inked Sonny Gray to a long-term contract. He was the runner-up for the American League ‘Cy Yong Award’ last season.

The Redbirds also signed Lance Lynn and made bullpen improvements as well. Matt Carpenter also signed a one-year deal with the cards.

To celebrate the return of baseball and the start of spring training, the Cardinals are putting on a special flash ticket sale for 12 hours starting at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Fans can buy tickets for any Monday through Thursday game for just $6. The offer does not include the opening day.

Each ticket will be loaded with $6 in Cardinals cash to use at Busch. Fans can purchase up to eight of the special $6 tickets per person per game.
